well with moshing... i'll use reel big fish's "thanks for not moshing" and mustard plug's "skank by numbers" as example of why not to mosh "skanking is for fun not for getting hurt." - mustard plug listen to these two songs for my arguments about it

well i dont know about you guys... but i have alot of little girly friends who dont like it when guys come in and start moshing in the middle of an awesome skank pit... and if you plan on leading the pit its your responsiblity to make it fun for everyone... and afterall its a ska gig.. not a hardcore show... skanking is all that should occur

hey there, just dropping in coz i have some views on this stuff...when i went and saw SLCs last gig ever at melbourne with cap'n leams and tommo, some big annoying people used moshing/standing to ruin the skank pit. Pits work best when closed in on all sides and i see no problem if the front side of the pit is enclosed by a mosh. Anyone should be free to physically express themselves anyway they like, thats why we dont endorse mosh hate as such, when used correctly, skanking and moshing are not necessarily exclusive, provided there are no venue size restrictions. As for a fourth wave, i would say the likes of one are definetly plausible, and some of the more hardcore-fused ska bands, ABE being one, do not resemble alot of the third wave bands as such. Ska can be fused with any genre, and it is my view that this is why a fourth view is possible. It'd be great to see more open minded people out there about their music, i.e. rock/punk loud music with horns.

I totally agree. A good Skankpit is always mostly surrounded with moshers. when you see a pure skankpit you think "that does not look fun, why are they doing that, these guys are losers" but if there is a properly formed moshpit surrounding it all of the sudden it is the best thing you have ever seen (especially from above). what is even more fun is if there are mosher pockets within the skankpit. (but maybe things are different in you crazy world on the bottom of the earth (or maybe you guys are the stuck up people that true Rudeboys fight against)). as for the fourth wave. a few people I know (i.e. my sister, my friend ()who knows more about ska than anyone I know), and a few others) predicted that the fourth wave would combine Ska with metal. I was quite pleased when I found ABE (and later others) and the Screamo/metal/ska that they offered. (I should point out that my favorite band of all time, The O.C. Supertones (who were always on the forefront) did dabble in Metal/ska in their album "Loud And Clear" back in the late '90s)
